Fire fighters have been battling the gorse fire on the slopes of Slieve Donard in the Mourne Mountains in County Down for three days.

Fire chiefs had labelled the mountain fire as a “major incident” but thankfully by Sunday 25 April 2021, the valiant efforts of the crews has achieved a victory over the fire for now.

Response to the wildfire in Mourne Mountains has been scaled down, and is no longer a major incident. Thank you so much...
