Wake the Giant Warrenpoint 2019

UPDATE: Wake the Giant 2019 HERE

We all know the story of Finn’s epic battle with the giant Ruscaire! (but just in case you need a reminder…)

The battle between the two giants raged across the Mournes, Cooleys and Carlingford Lough for days.

Finn lifted a huge stone and flung it at Ruscaire, it struck the evil Giant on the head and buried him into the ground!

The stone Finn threw, we now call Cloughmor and legend has it that The Big Stone is the final resting place of Ruscaire, The Giant of Snow and Ice!

But beware folks…these stories are not a thing of myth and legends of long ago!

The magic of this area is all around us in 2018…

The magic of old has been acquired by another powerful, evil force to keep Finn asleep!

The Point Man has asked us to get as many people as we can get into Warrenpoint to try and break the spell and waken Finn as he parades through the streets of Warrenpoint at 4pm on Saturday.

Saturday 18th August in Warrenpoint at 4pm

The Point Man needs your help along the parade route this Saturday 18th August in Warrenpoint at 4pm. We would advice that you get into your spot for around 3.30 as there are huge crowds expected!

Can you wake Finn? Shout, scream, stamp your feet and roar!

With the help of colourful characters along the way, the Point Man will attempt to get the crowds to jolt poor Finn awake, before the parade finishes at Havelock Place.

The parade will depart from outside The Whistledown Hotel at 4pm.

“The Point Man” has metamorphosed from the stilt walker we seen last year – Doctor Who Style – to a man walking the streets of Warrenpoint on a mission to Wake The Giant!

In true Doctor Who style, our Point Man even transforms to another alter ego, Keith Singleton , from time to time!!!

You may have seen him appear in Soft Border Patrol playing Michael The Smuggler
