Friday 9th August

  • 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm: The Currach Club’s “Come and Try It” Open Sessions. All are welcome to come along and have a go. (Warrenpoint Beach)
  • 7pm – 11pm: Outdoor Cinema (Town Park)

Saturday 10th August

  • 11am-3.30pm: Annual International Currach Championships. Heats with teams from Donegal, East Wall (Dublin), Skerries, Clare, Galway, and Hudson River (USA). (Warrenpoint Beach)
  • 12pm – 2pm: Dog Show (The Square)
    • 12pm: Dog Show Registration
    • 1pm: Dog Show
  • 1.30pm: Irish Cup 1st Round – Warrenpoint Town FC vs Windmill Stars – Kick off @ 1.30pm (Milltown)
  • 11am – 3pm: Artisan Market (Town Park)
  • 1pm-3pm: Teddy Bears Picnic, Face Painting, Balloon Modellers, Community Tribal Drummers (Town Park)
  • 3pm-4pm: Kids Disco with DJ Red Marty (Town Park)
  • 6.30pm: Loughside Festival Comedy Night (Town Hall) – Doors open @ 6.30pmt SOLD OUT

Sunday 11th August

  • 8am-8pm: Peace Stone Ultra 12 Hour Charity Run
  • 11am-4pm: Annual International Currach Championships. Finals with presentation of Winners’ trophies by Chair of Council at 4pm. (Warrenpoint Beach)
  • 3pm-4pm: Festival Parade
  • 4pm-5pm: St Peters Brass Band & Warrenpoint Silver Band (Town Park)
  • 6pm-8pm: Live Music with Pogue Ma Cahone (Town Park)

CURRACHS ON THE LOUGH

The Currach Club’s “Come and Try It” Open Sessions. All are welcome to come along and have a go. (Warrenpoint Beach)

The Currach is a traditional Irish boat made of a wooden frame covered with a watertight material such as animal hide or synthetic fabrics.

Known for its lightweight and flexible design, it has been used for centuries along the coasts of Ireland for fishing and transportation.

Its construction involves a wooden framework covered with a material like canvas or tarred fabric, making it suitable for rough sea conditions.

The currach’s design allows it to be easily repaired and adapted for various uses

Shane Todd’s show in Warrenpoint as part of the Loughside Festival sold out in a matter of hours

Shane Todd, the celebrated comedian from Northern Ireland, has recently completed a major milestone: his first tour of America. Known for his sharp wit and engaging stage presence, 

Todd has made a name for himself not only as a comedian but also as a writer, podcaster, and actor. 

His recent American tour marks a significant expansion in his career, showcasing his talent to new audiences across the Atlantic.

Thousands of people have visited Warrenpoint over the years on the 15th!
 
This year the Loughside Festival is running a Fayre Day culminating in a Fireworks Display from the end of the Pier
