Hugh Jackman wrapped filming The Death of Robin Hood right here in NI and left raving about our “depth, camaraderie and spirit.” He was even spotted at The Dirty Duck in Holywood. The Mournes must’ve made an impression — the world’s biggest Aussie is now an honorary local. (Belfast Live)

The Human Touch Live at The Duke
There’s nothing like a bit of Springsteen to stir the soul — local legends The Human Touch are back at in Warrenpoint Town Hall, and the recent gig had toes tapping and pints flowing. Expect big energy and bigger choruses.

🎭 Catch “SHINE” at Newry Town Hall – April 4–5
A brand new comedy play written by Rozlyn Sheridan featuring the O’Sullivan family trying to save their school. Think community theatre with heart and laughs. (Eventbrite)
🌳 Mourne Park vs. Climate Change – April 12
A trail experience for teens and older children, teaching how trees tackle climate change using What3Words tech. Hosted by the Woodland Trust NI. Booking required.

The Belfast Telegraph is singing the praises of Feast — Chef Melissa McCabe’s new place. Former food truck fame meets Great British Menu talent. Worth a detour (and a booking).

Lisbane’s Wednesday Cuppa Circle
Tucked inside a community hub with the friendliest welcome in Ards, this heart-on-sleeve cuppa-and-cake drop-in is a wee midweek ritual. No fuss, just kindness and kettle-boiled chats. A good reminder that sometimes, magic is brewed one mug at a time.

🚫 No Fluff

New PUFFIN Crossings in Warrenpoint & Dundrum
£80,000 invested in making pedestrian safety smarter and safer, especially for kids and older folks. The Department for Infrastructure says these crossings adapt to walkers’ pace — no more sprinting across flashing ambers. (Department for Infrastructure, March 2025)
