Shipwrecks Ireland

A new website launched by the Irish Government’s Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht charts the position of thousands of shipwrecks sunk off the coast of Ireland.

The Department oversees the protection and preservation of cultural relics and heritage sites.

Many of the shipwrecks off the coast of Ireland have historical significance dating from medieval times to more recent word events like the World Wars.

We have screen shot Carlingford Lough from the website showing the exact location of shipwrecks in the shores off our coast in County Down and County Louth!
